Overview
THE TAMALADA: A TAMALE MAKING PARTY!
Saturday, November 28th, 6 pm - 9 pm
Some of the best food traditions aren't just about what ends up on the table, but the time spent together making it. Throughout Mexico, families and friends gather for tamaladas—lively tamale-making parties where everyone lends a hand, stories are shared, and delicious food is the reward.
We're bringing that tradition to The Kitchen! Join us for a hands-on evening exploring everything that goes into making great tamales, from preparing tender, flavorful masa to creating delicious fillings and sauces from scratch. We'll explore the spices, chiles, and cooking techniques that give each variation its distinctive character, then get our hands busy filling, wrapping, and steaming our creations.
Along the way, we'll share tips for making components ahead, freezing tamales, and bringing this wonderful tradition into your own kitchen. Come ready to roll up your sleeves, gather around the table, and enjoy a delicious evening of cooking together. After all, tamales are even better when they're made with friends!
Class culminates in a family-style meal around our beautiful barnwood tables. Enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage upon arrival and another with dinner.
